Valuation and technical due diligence for commercial vehicles fleet

Brief

A specialist transport and lifting service provider were seeking a valuation and technical due diligence for their fleet of bespoke commercial vehicles. Their requirement was driven by seeking a lending facility from a multinational banking and financial services group to support the expansion of this UK wide specialist haulage firm.

Work

The project involved the inspection of a sample of the fleet of unencumbered vehicles, while meeting with key members of the operations team to understand maintenance schedules and review vehicle documentation.

This then formed the Subject Assets to verify condition and utilisation. From which a Market Valuation of the assets was conducted while as per our clients request, two bases of value were considered.

The final element was the provision of an estimate of the future value matching the term of the lending facility.

Outcome

Using our deep transportation sector knowledge, the team provided a detailed valuation and due diligence report to the lender. This enabled them to accurately assess their lending appetite and risk profile across the lifespan of the deal.
